Being instrumental in computers, gold is still a medium of transaction. It is not used as a currency in the traditional sense, but it occupies a very central role in terms of the functioning of internet infrastructure & the Ethereum blockchain.

Bitcoin is digital gold. Gold is the ore from which digital assets like Bitcoin are refined.

There is no cloud, cyberspace or ether without hardware made from materials extracted from the Earth’s crust.

This animation explores the relation of cybernetic spaces or the “metaverse” to the limits of physical space – is it actually an underground place where the technology was brought from or is it a place in the skies far above? Probably somewhere in between.
