The concept for this exhibition was to bring a bit of nature inside and to present a symbiotic, optimistic vision of industry working with nature. In this vein, the installation’s name is a quote from American ecologist and writer Aldo Leopold (1887 – 1948).
On the vertical axis I reversed the common “ground up” value chain: raw natural ingredients at the top, industrial products below. Instead of being refined, this arrangement suggests a degradation towards products at the bottom.
The ceiling of the axially planned “cathedral for nature” is a field of oats. Along the nave, each bay has paper roll-outs and artefacts on display. Center piece shows the best of packaging: apples.
