‘Probably Nothing‘ NFT exhibition – September 2021
Finland’s first NFT exhibition in Autumn of 2021 at a crypto meet-up in Kuusamo, Northern Finland. I curated a selection of NFTs from the wallets of people in our NFT-enthusiast-WhatsApp-group (most of whom were in attendance aswell).
The occasion was marked by a curatorial statement about the mania underway and the new forms of emergent culture on-view. The pictures of NFTs were displayed as prints on photo paper encased in laser-cut acrylic frames. The titles, artist names and QR-code links to the items were laser-engraved on the frames. Altogether there were 9 pictures & 1 3D-printed NFT.
NFT-panelist at Aave’s ‘Cryptonight‘ – Slush, December 2021
The side-event of Slush was organised by Aave and featured NFT art curated by London-based ‘Institute’. First half of the event was a DeFi panel with Stani Kulechov et co. and the second half was an NFT panel.
‘WTF is NFT?’ -lecture at Aalto University – November 2021
The lecture was open for anyone to attend and I organised it at Aalto Design Factory, a product development laboratory, where I work in digital fabrication. The subject was an overview of the technology, economics and sociocultural considerations in NFTs.
‘NFTs – current craze or here to stay?’ – March 2022
Event organised by Nordic Culture Point in Helsinki as a part of their discussion series ‘Art Online’.
In this hour-long discussion with designer and moderator Kasper Strömman and Norwegian NFT-gallerist and artist Haavard Tveito, we go through the fundamentals of the technology and describe the state of the NFT-market and NFT art world.
Studio visit with YLE’s ‘Kulttuuricocktail‘ – March 2022
When NFTs were a topic of discussion in an episode of ‘Kulttuuricocktail’ (=Culture Cocktail), they paid me a studio visit to produce a scoop of what the technology and field means for a contemporary visual artist.
You can see the episode here.
Panelist in ‘Navigating next-gen technologies for culture‘ – Opinion Festival, August 2022
Discussion on future-proofing culture using next-gen technologies that took place at Opinion Festival (Estonian equivalent of Suomi-Arena) in Tartu. Fantastic weather, people and a really versatile assessment of the realistic place in time in which we find ourselves in regards to these new tools.
